Golden Pothos, or Epipremnum aureum, also know as Devil’s Ivy or Devil’s Vine is another very popular indoor plant, great for placing on top of a high shelf or bookcase, to creating a trailing effect.

Golden Pothos have leaves up to around 12cm long and 10cm wide, with stunning lime-green streaks throughout. As it is a trailing vine it will grow quite long, so to keep a bushy appearance you should prune the vines to encourage growth lower down. You can also give it a stake for support to grow it upwards, if not wanted trailing down.

Golden Pothos are native to the Solomon Islands and love bright light, warm and humid conditions. This is a relatively easy care plant and can grow well with less light, but not reach its full potential. It should be allowed to mostly dry out between watering to prevent root rot. In Wellington we use it as a decorative indoor plant to liven any space with multiple tones! It can grow up to couple meters long if allowed to but you can prune it to prevent it going leggy and to make the base bushier.

We don’t do cuttings of this plant, as due to space requirements we don’t currently sell it as a huge vine. Set up something for it to climb and watch it grow!
